When will I receive my fall tuition bill and when is it due?

• You should begin receiving your bill mid-late July (assuming your financial aid process is complete).
• Check your email and college portal to see what your bill is. There is often a tab or section called “Billing” or “Account Statements”. It is extremely important that you open these emails or notifications!
• Bills are typically due BEFORE classes start – so check now!

How do I read my bill?

• Essentially, you’ll need to take the total cost of your charges for the fall and subtract your scholarships, grants, and loans from that.

What if my bill is much more than I anticipated?

1. Make sure you have already accepted all of the grants, scholarships, and loans that you will need for the year. Complete all the necessary loan counseling and sign promissory notes.
2. Check to see if all your financial aid has been subtracted from your bill. If you have already accepted your financial and, but your financial aid is not showing up in your bill, email your financial aid office.
   1. Ask your financial aid office:
      • Are there any steps I need to take or missing documents I need to submit to ensure my financial aid is applied?
      • When will my financial aid be applied in full to my bill?
3. Check your charges to see if health insurance was included. Health insurance can cost up to $3,000 and many schools require payment upfront. This might account for the difference. For more info on health insurance, check out our resource here.

What are my options if I can’t pay the bill in full now?

• Consider taking out a federal loan if you have not already taken out the maximum amount.
• You can set up a payment plan. Email your school’s Bursar or Business office to learn how to sign up for one.
• Communicate with your financial aid office early and often. They will help identify your options.
